Day 1 – Arrival in Dakar

Welcome to Senegal! Upon arrival at Dakar International Airport, you will be transferred to Sobobade Ecolodge. This marks the beginning of your authentic African adventure.

Day 2 – Journey to Niokolo-Koba Region

Early departure toward southeastern Senegal. Along the way, you’ll pass villages and rural landscapes that give you a first taste of local traditions. Overnight in Wassadou Eco Lodge, located near Niokolo-Koba National Park.

Day 3 – Gambia River & Local Encounters

Enjoy a morning boat trip on the Gambia River to spot hippos, crocodiles, and exotic birds. In the afternoon, hike to nearby villages and meet the locals, learning about their daily life along the river.

Day 4 – Safari in Niokolo-Koba National Park

A full day of wildlife: baboons, chimpanzees, antelopes, and buffaloes in Senegal’s largest national park. Later, transfer to Kédougou, the gateway to Bassari Land.

Day 5 – Ndindefelo Waterfalls

Discover one of Senegal’s hidden gems: the waterfalls of Ndindefelo. Swim in natural pools and hike up into the hills to reach a small, secluded village.

Day 6 – Bassari People & Culture

Start the day with a wildlife walk, then continue to Etiolo to meet the Bassari community. Their traditions and hospitality offer a true cultural highlight.

Day 7 – Bedik Village of Iwol

Hike into the hills to visit Iwol, a Bedik village known for its strong cultural heritage. Meet the local chief and gain insights into one of Senegal’s oldest ethnic groups.

Day 8 – Tambacounda Market

Travel westward to Tambacounda. Explore the colorful local market and overnight in a traditional lodge.

Day 9 – Casamance & Diaobé Weekly Market

Enter the lush Casamance region, famous for its greenery and vibrant traditions. Visit the Diaobé market, one of the largest in the region, before reaching Kolda.

Day 10 – Journey to Ziguinchor

Drive through scenic villages to Ziguinchor, the capital of Casamance. Overnight at a riverside hotel.

Day 11 – Overland Drive Back to Dakar

Start the long but fascinating drive back toward Dakar. Along the way, enjoy changing landscapes and optional stops in traditional villages to stretch your legs and experience everyday life in Senegal. Evening arrival and overnight at a seaside hotel near Dakar.

Day 12 – Departure

Relax in the morning with some free time at the beach or hotel. Later, transfer to Dakar International Airport for your departure. End of tour with unforgettable memories of Senegal’s wildlife, cultures, and landscapes.
